The Edit menu contains commands that are useful when editing texture node trees.

Command

Description

Undo

Undoes the last change made to a texture.  Can be repeatedly used to undo a series of changes.

Redo

Redoes the last undone change.

Cut

Removes the currently selected node and all of its child nodes and places them on Genetica's clipboard for possible pasting into a new location.

Copy

Copies the currently selected node and all of its child nodes to Genetica's clipboard for possible pasting into an additional location.

Paste

Pastes the node branch currently residing in Genetica's clipboard to the selected location.  Anything in that location will be overwritten during this operation.

Paste Below

Pastes the node residing in Genetica's clipboard below the selected location.  This operation will not remove or replace any nodes.

Paste, Keep Inputs

Replaces the node at the selected location with the one in Genetica's clipboard while maintaining any nodes in its input slots.

Delete Current

Removes the selected node while preserving the child nodes that appear above it.  If the node has more than one input, only the first of the node's non-empty inputs will be preserved.

Delete Branch

Removes the selected node along with all of its inputs.

Group Branch

Helps organize the texture by placing the selected node and all of its inputs within a Group node.

Zoom Out Branch

Shrinks the visual elements of the selected node and all of its inputs causing more textural elements to fit in the texture.  If you wish to zoom the entire texture, make sure that the very base node is selected.  For a more detailed explanation of this useful feature, please refer to the Zooming Textures tutorial.

Zoom In Branch

Similar to Zoom Out Branch described above, except that it enlarges the visual elements of the selected node branch.

Convert Lab to Basic Nodes (Pro/Studio)

A Pro and Studio edition feature that converts a Lab Node into a collection of Image Nodes, for even finer control over its behavior.

Randomize Branch

Randomizes some of the properties of the selected node and its inputs.

Preferences

Opens a dialog where global settings controlling Genetica's behavior can be modified.
