Shape Blur

Overview

Blurs an image throughout the area of a supplied shape.

Shape-Blur

While most blur nodes only use the red channel of their secondary inputs, for Shape Blur all channels of its

Shape input are used.  In this example the shape's magenta center leads to similar coloration in the blurred result.

Inputs

Input

Description

Original

The original image that is to be blurred.

Blur Radius

Modifies the size of the shape used to blur the image.  The Blur Radius input modifies the size of that shape at each point, with brighter shades of red resulting in a larger shape being used at that location.

Shape

The shape used to blur the image.  Each channel of this input is used independently, so the red channel of the Shape input is used to blur the red channel of the input image, the green channel of the shape is used to blur the green of the input, etc.  You should therefore provide a gray-scale input if you wish all color channels to be blurred the same way.
